About the IDUNA Foundation

Who are we and what do we do?

Iduna is the goddess of youth and immortality in Norse mythology. The name reflects our mission – the IDUNA Foundation aims to provide support to vulnerable and financially needy children and young people in Switzerland, Sweden, Africa and Asia , especially in Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam .

The foundation's main purpose is to contribute to the development of children and young people by:

  • offer housing,

  • provide education,

  • and meet basic needs such as food and healthcare.

The foundation can both support existing, tax-exempt charitable projects and organizations that share the same goals, as well as run its own projects. This also includes the possibility of purchasing or renting properties with the aim of creating housing for children and young people.

The IDUNA Foundation is a non-profit and public benefit organization . In the event of the dissolution of the foundation, the remaining assets will be transferred to another tax-exempt organization in Switzerland with similar purposes. It is excluded that the foundation's funds will accrue to the founders, board members or their successors.

The foundation is subject to audit and is subject to annual supervision by the Swiss Federal Foundation Supervision Authority (ESA).

Your gift makes a difference – where it is really needed

All members of the foundation's board work on a voluntary basis. They do not receive fees and are only reimbursed for direct expenses. With their commitment, the board focuses on social and community-beneficial initiatives, where children and young people without financial resources are given the opportunity for safe housing, education and medical help.

We are passionate about this mission – and we are convinced that the IDUNA Foundation can make a big difference, even with small means.

The board has extensive experience in foundation work and a strong network and professional expertise, which strengthens the quality and efficiency of the foundation's efforts.

In order to continue our work, we depend on continuous funding. The IDUNA Foundation is recognized as a non-profit organization by the tax authorities – this means that your donation is deductible on your tax return. We are also exempt from any gift and inheritance taxes.

By supporting the IDUNA Foundation, you are doing good – while also receiving tax benefits.

Why donate to the IDUNA Foundation?

IDUNA is a small and efficiently working foundation , where you as a donor have the opportunity to influence which projects are supported. You also receive direct feedback on what your gift has achieved.

We are happy to accept earmarked contributions , where we decide together with you how the money will be used – one-time donations or payments in stages, depending on the needs of the project.
